A new crazy quilt project!

I always need a special little push or inspiration to get going on a new project.  For this project it was a wonderful find on the free table at my local guild.

Aren't these wonderful!

Four packages of 1900's vintage photos that have been copied onto muslin.

The packages were originally sold by The Calico Butterfly in 2001.

I found other sets available on Ebay but I was unable, as yet, to find out any other information. 

If anyone out there is familiar with this product I'd love to know more. Just drop a note in the comments.

For my for my first project I'm going with the ladies in hats.  Above are some of the fabrics I'm thinking of.

I'm excited because the ladies with hats reminds me of a little vintage inspired doll hat I made years ago.

I've always loved how it turned out and enjoy seeing it sitting with my doll collection. Now I'm excited to add a crazy quilt project to go with it.

UPDATE!

Before I got around to hitting the post button I started making my blocks!

So here is my first work in progress update.

Six crazy quilt bocks all ready to start embellishing.

Now back to stitching.
