A quick baby quilt

Today's post is a quick and easy pattern called the  disappearing nine-patch.  Patterns for the disappearing nine-patch and the disappearing double nine-patch variation can be found for free on you tube or pintress from several contributors.  A few Scraps had a nice tutorial of the double disappearing nine-patch which I encourage you to check out. Since I was using fabric from my stash I just looked at photos and then made  my quilt with pattern pieces  sized from the scraps I had on hand.  Sorry but that meams I don't really have a pattern to share. But, again if you are inspired a quick search should make finding a pattern easy.

I wanted to try this pattern as the possibilities seemed endless for twisting and turning things into other designs. My plan is to  continue experimenting; first with fabrics that are a bit more curated so the new designs are more clear. and then with added slices to a basic nine patch block.

Finished quilt: 41.5" X 41.5", cotton batting, cotton backing, meandering quilt on my domestic machine.

Sometimes a piece turns out only O.K. but it's what you learn from the process that's really the win.  Right now my mind is spinning with new ideas.  I guess a bit of fabric shopping may be in my future.  May the experimenting begin soon!

Hope everyone is enjoying a wonderful day!

Thanks for stopping by,

MaryEllen
