The weather is starting to turn around here and spring is in the air!
Hope it's beautiful wherever you are today!

The real name of this piece is Wedding 1 and it was completed in 2012. Wedding 1 was one of my very early art quilt pieces. I find this flower pops up quite often to inspire my art.
My favorite flowers are violets and daffodils (also yellow roses). Thus, for my wedding bouquet I wanted violets and daffodils. Because both are so delicate I was told they would need to be silk. It was also a June wedding so not the right season at all for either. In the end the florist did a wonderful job with a mix of silks and fresh daisies. The final bouquet was perfect for my country wedding.
I know I return to these special flowers often because they will always hold a special place in my heart.
18" X 18" and mounted on artist canvas. Pieced background, raw edge leaves and flowers, thread painting, netting, beads, 3-D flower centers with buttons, vintage lace and doilies.
